Chris and Lesley occupy the 300 year old farmhouse which is adjacent to the gîtes
We have two daughters, cats, chickens, ducks, geese and three Ouessant(french miniature) sheep

We are situated in the lovely Brittany countryside close to the borders of Mayenne and Normandy between the magnificent medieval abbey of Mont Saint-Michel and the historic town of Fougères with its fortified castle - the largest in
Europe - which dates from the Middle Ages
There are lovely beaches within easy reach, as well as many wonderful historic towns such as Vitré, Dol de Bretagne, Saint-Malo, Dinan, Combourg and many more.
It is possible to visit the Bayeux Tapestry and the D-Day Landing beaches and we are less than an hour from the cities of Rennes and Laval with their elegant shops
The gites offer all comforts including a Canadian Hot Tub and you can enjoy peace and tranquility in our lovely grounds
The gites are situated 10 minutes from Fougères and 35 minutes from Mont Saint-Michel in a pretty countryside location surrounded by established trees
The town of Louvigné-du-Désert and its local shops are a 5 minute drive away, it has a SuperU supermarket, a mini-mart in the centre, bakers, butchers, newsagent, post office, bars, crèperie, pharmacies and banks
Our local village, Villamée, is a couple of minutes drive away. It has the ancient church of Saint Martin whose construction was begun at the end of the 10th C by the monks from Mont St Michel. The church has an unusual bell tower and the arched gateway is the only one of it's kind in Brittany
In Villamée you will find a small shop selling basic groceries which adjoins the bar-tabac and a newly constructed restaurant 'Au Fil de l'Eau' . The restaurant opened for business in February 2009 and offers a set menu each lunchtime for under 10€ including wine or cider
